"Adopt Adata" initiative was targeted at primary and secondary schools in Plovdiv and involved innovative approaches of environmental education like an open-air workshop in river ecology, establishing student’s stewardship (adoption) of a section of the Maritsa River, a workshop in building with natural materials and cleaning the river of solid waste.
The project was performed in the framework of "Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture 2019" and included in the official program of culture events. The project idea was based on the successful project "Adopt the river", implemented by REC-Bulgaria in 2017, supported by EEA Grants.
